Film Photographer in Atlanta
Are you looking to capture striking, timeless images from your wedding, engagement, or other special event? You may not realize it, but the look youโre seeking might just be that special film photo touch. It offers a unique quality that digital photography just canโt recreate.
Advantages of Film Photography
Digital photography is great: convenient, affordable, and easy to manipulate – but when you want something truly special, film photography is just the way to go.
Why?
First, film photography is timeless. Film was how photos were taken for centuries before digital took over, and those images still stand the test of time, feeling as fresh and impactful today as the day they were taken.
Film photos also have a special look that is nearly impossible to replicate. A film picture is made when light travels through a camera lens and onto a strip of film. Thatโs where the signature film look comes from with all of its depth, dimension, and character. The result is expressive, lush, and enduring.
Unlike digital photography, film can better retain depth of color, especially in highlights – like those youโd find in an outdoor background – and skin tones. The photos come out stunning, flattering, natural, and dynamic, with a larger range of tones and colors than you can get elsewhere.
And itโs worth noting that the film photography experience is like no other. It requires intention, purpose, and being present in the moment. Each film photograph is a work of art, with the photographer truly creating something singular in each frame. It wonโt feel like paparazzi with endless snapping and clicking, but more like sitting for a portrait.
Why Choose Matthew Alexander for your Film Photography
Because film photography is an art form, it requires experience and professional equipment. Over the years, Iโve developed an understanding of how to craft a perfect film image – manipulating lighting, composition, exposure, focal length, and film speed to create the clientโs dream photograph.
I use classic gear, including a Minolta 7xi, a Mamiyaflex C2 TLR, a Busch Pressman D, and a Diana Instant Square. I have a variety of other toy cameras & underwater cameras as well.
Weโll work together to ensure you have a positive, comfortable photography experience and exceptional results.
